Changzhou Institute of Technology (CIT) has begun to enroll overseas students since 1994. Until 2013 nearly 500 international students from over 40 countries have been to CIT for learning Chinese language and culture.  Changzhou Education Bureau and Changzhou Foreign Affairs Office have set up Changzhou Learning Center of Chinese Language & Culture for Foreigners and Changzhou Chinese Culture Training Center for Foreigners in CIT respectively.
