CIT enrolls students from over 20 provinces (cities and municipalities) throughout China. It has over 15,000 full-time students and more than 200 international degree students. In recent years, CIT has cooperated with universities such as Changzhou University and Hohai University to jointly cultivate graduate students.

CIT holds firmly to the concept of serving local industries with the aim of constructing first-class undergraduate majors and cultivating high-quality applied talents. It insists on the principle of strengthening the features, establishing the brand, and constructing the characteristics.
