学校目前面向全国20多个省（市、自治区）招生，现有普通全日制在校生15000多人，学历留学生200多人。近年来，学校开展了与常州大学、河海大学等高校联合培养硕士研究生工作。
CIT enrolls students from over 20 provinces (cities and municipalities) throughout China. It has over 15,000 full-time students and more than 200 international degree students. In recent years, CIT has cooperated with universities such as Changzhou University and Hohai University to jointly cultivate graduate students.
学校始终坚持面向基层、服务地方的办学定位，以“建设一流本科专业，培养高水平应用型人才”为目标，坚持“强化内涵、树立品牌、培育特色”的专业内涵建设思路。以品牌专业和特色专业建设为引领，以专业认证为抓手，以产教融合和创新创业教育为特色，切实提高应用型人才培养质量，已为社会培养输送了10万余名高素质人才。
CIT holds firmly to the concept of serving local industries with the aim of constructing first class undergraduate majors and cultivating high-quality practice-oriented talents. It insists on the principle of strengthening the features, establishing the brand, and constructing the characteristics. Up to now, CIT has cultivated over 100,000 high-quality graduates via the construction of brand majors and specialty majors, professional accreditation, the integration of learning and production, and the education of innovative entrepreneurship so as to improve talent cultivation quality.
