American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU) Delegation visited CIT

On June 17, a delegation led by Arlene Jackson, Associate Vice President for Global Initiatives, American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU) visited CIT. Vice-President Wang Chuanjin met the guests. Leaders and relevant teachers from the School of Economics and Management and the Department of International Exchange and Cooperation attended the meeting.

The American delegation members first toured the campus tour and then visited the School of Economics and Management labs to learn about the living and study environment of students, followed by the meeting. At the meeting, Vice-President Wang introduced CIT, including university operation, strategic orientation, disciplines, accomplishment, international exchange and cooperation, international students’ education etc. Ms. Jackson then introduced the size, nature and main functions of AASCU. Thereafter, the two sides held further discussions on Summer & Winter Camp for American students and an initial cooperation intention was agreed re: time, content and management of the camps.

The American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU) located in Washington D.C., is a national and non-government higher education association. Currently AASCU has more than 440 member universities or colleges throughout America. In 2014, CIT joined AASCU as well as the Sino-American CHEPD 121 Program run by the China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE), and the China Center for International Education Exchanged (CCIEE).
